In a previous post, Lighting Fires, Not Filling Buckets, I wrote about my Year 10 class which created some imaginative digital protest texts. The task was fairly open-ended and I was really pleased with the work these students produced. I have uploaded some of these to a protest wiki. If you get a chance, check it out.

Why is the new literacy notion of 21st Century Learning linked to democratic change, activism, and moral/ethical intelligence/literacy? In my school board, in Calgary, Alberta, we are encouraged to investigate, inquire, and become morally and ethically involved in such issues such as the notion of poverty you have explored. I though your representation was an important commentary about our world, and I liked that the students were taking on an important intellectual and human cause.
